This has been a marvelous week, and next week is looking even better. I am happy to inform you that all of our problems have been solved.
1. We have enough money to meet our budget and surpass it.
2. We don’t need more Bible class teachers.
3. There is an abundance of deacons to do the work needed.
4. A solution has been found to all our church unity issues.
5. We know the solution to our church growth issues.
Now all we have to do is respond in the manner that Christ would have us to.
Perhaps the comments above sound sarcastic, flippant, or just down right silly to you but the statements are all true.
1. We have enough money because God promised to supply our needs so we have exceedingly abundantly for every good work. Now all we have to do is believe him and start giving.
2. We don’t need more Bible class teachers. We have plenty. We just need for the people capable to stop making excuses and start helping.
3. Likewise with deacons, volunteers, and any other manpower need. We have the people who can, we just need people who will.
4. Church unity issues, yes we have the solution in the scriptures. We need people willing to love, bend, and even to confront in love as needed.
5. Church growth: The great commission is the plan. (Mark 16:15-16) God has already told us the gospel is powerful enough. (Romans 1:16) It doesn’t need us to alter it, just to present it. The law of sowing and reaping applies. “He who sows sparingly will reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.”
I challenge you to show me where my logic is wrong. Did you know if wanted to build that new educational wing we have talked about we could do it, within the next two years, if we wanted to.
Do we realize that we pull together and each carry our load that we can do more than we can imagine.
If we want our church to grow all we have to decide to do is to sow, God will make it grow.
There is one question we have not answered. “Do we have the faith to obey God?” You see the children of Israel didn’t go in and possess the Promised Land because they lacked the faith. It was their lack of faith that caused them to disobey. God can’t lead us when we refuse to follow.
